Toyota’s New Battery Tech Achieves 932-Mile Range in Only 10 Minutes of Charging

Toyota, known for its cautious approach towards electric vehicles (EVs), has recently revealed a shift in perspective. Previously focused on alternative options like hydrogen, the company is now projecting that by 2026, the stage for EVs will be ready. They anticipate their battery-powered vehicles to achieve a range of 932 miles (1,500 kilometers) by 2028. Toyota is also embracing the concept of giga castings, similar to Tesla, further indicating their commitment to electric mobility.

Toyota plans to develop an EV powered by a solid-state battery, which is expected to offer a range of nearly 750 miles and a quick charge time of only 10 minutes. In comparison, Tesla's Superchargers currently provide around 200 miles of charge in 15 minutes. Toyota's aim is to significantly improve the range boost for EVs.

These developments mark a significant shift for Toyota, which has been perceived as anti-EV in the past. The company's evolving stance has implications for the future of electric mobility, showcasing their willingness to embrace electric technology and compete in the growing EV market.
