Agora, a new industry-led initiative spearheaded by ChargeHub, The Electric Circuit, and BC Hydro, aims to address a crucial barrier to widespread electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Canada. The initiative endeavors to enable EV owners to charge their vehicles at any public charger across the country using a single account. Launched this week, Agora brings together 15 industry partners, including charging networks and automakers, with the goal of facilitating roaming across EV charging networks through a unified and secure platform. By adopting a single account management system for all charging needs, Agora aims to enhance the charging experience for both the industry and EV drivers. Simon Ouellette, CEO of ChargeHub, emphasized the importance of offering the best charging experience and scaling up EV roaming to accommodate the growing public charging infrastructure. The Agora initiative represents a collaborative effort to streamline EV charging processes and accelerate the transition to electric mobility in Canada.
