Quebec’s largest heavy-duty vehicle lessor buys 10 Class 7, Class 8 electric trucks

Brossard Leasing, a leading heavy-duty vehicle lessor based in Dorval, Quebec, is embarking on an electrification initiative by ordering 10 electric trucks for its commercial fleet. The company, known as the largest heavy-duty vehicle lessor in the province with a fleet of over 3,600 vehicles, has placed the order with GLOBOCAM, a network of heavy-duty vehicle dealerships. The electrification effort includes five Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 trucks and five eM2 Class 7 trucks, representing a significant step towards reducing emissions and promoting sustainability in the transportation industry. To support the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), Brossard Leasing is collaborating with Cleo, a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec specializing in customized charging management solutions for commercial fleets, to install charging infrastructure.

Jean-François Brossard, Director of Energy Technologies and Innovation at Brossard Leasing, emphasized the company's commitment to driving positive change within the industry. By investing in electric trucks and partnering with Cleo for charging infrastructure, Brossard Leasing aims to lead the way in advancing electrification and fostering environmental stewardship in commercial transportation. This initiative reflects a growing trend towards electrification in the transportation sector, as businesses recognize the benefits of reducing emissions and embracing sustainable alternatives. Brossard Leasing's decision to electrify its fleet underscores the importance of industry leadership and collaboration in accelerating the transition towards cleaner transportation solutions.
