Mitsui High-tec investing $100 million to expand EV parts plant in Ontario

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has announced that Mitsui High-tec is investing over $100 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Brantford, southwestern Ontario. The investment will be used to manufacture motor cores, a critical component for electric vehicle (EV) motors. Mitsui High-tec is the sole company in Canada specializing in motor core parts for electric and hybrid vehicles. As part of the expansion, a new facility will be established, creating over 100 jobs. Premier Ford mentioned that the provincial government is contributing $3.1 million to support this expansion. This investment aligns with Ontario's broader efforts to position itself as a leader in the manufacturing of electric vehicles, emphasizing the strategic importance of supporting the EV industry's supply chain and infrastructure development. The move reflects the province's commitment to fostering economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the advancement of sustainable transportation technologies.
