J.D. Power to discuss gap between Canada-U.S. EV consideration on June 29

The gap in the willingness to consider purchasing electric vehicles (EVs) between Canadian and American consumers has increased in the past year, according to J.D. Power. In 2022, the disparity was only 2%, but the 2023 Canada Electric Vehicle Consideration (EVC) Study revealed a widening gap. J.D. Power reported that, based on the 2022 study, 21% of Canadians expressed a strong likelihood of considering an EV for their next vehicle purchase. The 2023 data indicates that the discrepancy between Canadian and American consumers in terms of EV consideration has grown. The study highlights evolving trends in consumer attitudes toward electric vehicles, emphasizing a more pronounced divergence between the two neighboring countries. As the automotive industry transitions towards electric mobility, understanding these disparities can provide valuable insights for manufacturers and policymakers seeking to promote EV adoption in both Canada and the United States.
