Honda Motor Co is reportedly considering a nearly 2 trillion yen ($13.83 billion USD) project to build an electric vehicle plant in Canada. The project, potentially one of Honda's largest investments, may include in-house production of batteries. The company is exploring various sites, including one next to an existing automobile factory in Ontario. A decision is expected by the end of the year, with the new plant potentially starting operations in 2028. Honda and the Canadian government have not officially commented on the report. Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne acknowledged the reports, highlighting Canada's attractiveness for major green investments in the auto sector.
