Ford EV Owners to Receive Free Adapter for Tesla Superchargers

Ford, among numerous other automakers, intends to manufacture new electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with Tesla's proprietary charge port, known as the North American Charging Standard (NACS), starting around 2025. This move aligns with the industry's shift towards standardized charging protocols. Ford plans to provide an adapter for some existing electric models featuring a CCS-style plug to facilitate compatibility with the NACS.

While several companies have pledged to offer adapters, Ford appears poised to be one of the first to fulfill this promise. CEO Jim Farley recently announced on his social media platforms that eligible customers will soon have the opportunity to reserve a complimentary fast-charger adapter. This initiative aims to provide Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners in Canada and the U.S. with access to Tesla's extensive Supercharger network, enhancing the convenience and usability of their electric vehicles.
