EV charging stations to be installed at 3 Winnipeg McDonald’s locations

Winnipeg residents will soon have the convenience of charging their electric vehicles (EVs) while dining at McDonald's, thanks to a $176,000 grant from the Manitoba government to Eco-West Canada. The funds will be used to install electric charging stations at three McDonald's locations in the city. Manitoba Environment and Climate Minister Kevin Klein highlighted the grant as part of the province's commitment to supporting sustainable transportation infrastructure.

Amit Kapoor, a McDonald’s Canada franchisee, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the convenience the charging stations will offer patrons. The initiative reflects a broader trend of expanding EV charging infrastructure to make it more accessible and integrated into daily routines. By combining dining options with EV charging capabilities, the project aims to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles and contribute to the growth of sustainable practices in the transportation sector in Winnipeg.
