A ZEVAI Project by Grand River Malayali Association(GRMA) and Astro STEM Labs(ASL)

 

Grand River Malayalee Association (GRMA), a non-profit South Asian cultural organization, was chosen as one of the recipients of the  Government of Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI). 

GRMA and its partnering science-education organization Astro STEM Labs (ASL) have commenced a  project titled “Highway to Sustainability” The project comprises of a variety of student and community activities aimed at promoting the awareness and experience of zero-emission light-duty vehicles.

 

The GRMA-ASL project team comprising students, consultants and other professionals will be working over the coming months to create and disseminate information on aspects of engineering and technologies that are involved in electric vehicles.

 

Astro STEM Labs is  focused on educational and consulting projects in the domain of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This project is rightly aligned with ASL’s core values.

The GRMA-ASL team will host talks and undertake the production and delivery of educational sessions on zero-emission vehicles including their commercial and environmental viability.

 

“Zero-emission vehicles are helping Canadians to reduce emissions and save money on fuel while creating good jobs throughout the supply chain,” says the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources. “Investing in zero-emission vehicles will put more Canadians in the driver’s seat on the road to a net-zero future and help achieve our climate goals.”

The Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative supports projects that aim to increase awareness, knowledge and public confidence in zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) and public charging and refueling infrastructure.

Grand River Malayalee Association(GRMA) and Astro STEM Labs(ASL) are committed to promoting Zero Emission targets set by the Government of Canada.
